Two Planning Commissioner Vacancies
The City of Columbia Heights is currently seeking applications for two vacancies on the Planning Commission. This is a volunteer commission with members being appointed by the Mayor and City Council to serve for a four-year staggered term.

The purpose of the Planning Commission is to assist with land use, zoning and long-range planning matters within the city, to ensure high-quality development, and to apply rules and regulations in a fair and consistent manner. The Planning Commission follows and maintains a Zoning and Development Ordinance and a Comprehensive Plan for the physical development of the city and serves as an Advisory Board to the City Council by making recommendations on various land use issues such as Site Plans, Conditional Use Permits, Variances, Lot Subdivisions and Rezoning requests.

Planning Commission meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. If you are interested in serving as a member of the Planning Commission, please click here to download an application.
