Columbia Heights Fire Department

The City of Columbia Heights is served by a fire chief, assistant fire chief, eight full-time professional firefighters, up to 30 Paid-on-Call Firefighters, one full-time administrative assistant, and one part-time administrative assistant. The department provides immediate response to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Fire Department provides:

• Fire suppression
• Emergency medical services
• Fire code inspections
• Fire prevention and education
• Hazardous materials response
• Property Inspections

In addition, the department licenses all rental property in the City and enforces the City’s Property Maintenance Code. The Fire Department also provides firefighting, emergency medical services, and fire code inspections to the City of Hilltop.
