Yard Waste Collection: Update and Reminders

Yard Waste Collection Update and Reminders
The season for bags and bundles of yard waste typically ends the week of Thanksgiving, but the YW/O compost carts are emptied year-round. A specific date for the end of the bags-and-bundles season hasn't been determined yet because it is dependent on weather for the composters. The end date will be posted online once it is determined.

Minor Delays
Please note, at this time of the year, yard waste collection may fall behind by a day or two, but the hauler will work on Saturdays if needed to get caught up.

A Few More Reminders
Yard waste consisting of leaves, grass clippings, acorns, garden waste, pine cones, needles, soft-bodied green plants, weeds, and other non-woody vegetation can be mixed together for collection. Set bagged or bundled yard waste on the curb in front of your home. Brush must be bundled in manageable 3-foot lengths not to exceed an 18" roll. The only container allowed for yard waste collection is a City provided yard waste/organics cart (call 763-706-3700 to order a YW/O cart), or a compostable bag. The State of MN requires yard waste bags meet ASTM D6400 standards for compostability.
