Sign Up Open for CH Recreation Hylander Football Clinic and Youth Football and Co-ed Soccer Leagues; Volunteer Coaches Needed
Sign-up is open to join the Columbia Heights Recreation Hylander Football Clinic starting next week.

The program is a great way for kids to learn football techniques in a low-pressure environment, said Carissa Goebel, recreation program coordinator.

The football clinic will be taught by Columbia Heights High School varsity football coach Matt Townsend, who will also help assist volunteer coaches as needed.

Volunteer Coaches Needed
Volunteer coaches are needed for Youth Football and Co-ed Soccer leagues.

The recreation department is looking for adults who have knowledge of the sport, a flexible evening schedule, and can pass a criminal background check.

“They don’t need to be experts,” Goebel said. “They need to enjoy working with kids, have a willingness to teach, and have some availability on weeknights when most of the games are played.”

Volunteer coaches will have access to assistance from recreation staff and local coaching experts.

To sign up to be a volunteer coach, or to get more info on any recreation program, call the recreation mainline at 763-706-3730.
