4300 Central Ave NE Redevelopment Update

The retail space located at 4300 Central Ave NE was recently demolished by its owner, Alatus LLC. Since Alatus acquired the property in 2021, development has been slowed by global supply chain issues, rising construction costs, and rising interest rates. Despite these challenges, Alatus and the City remain committed to moving the project forward in a manner consistent with the original redevelopment vision for the site.

Preliminary plans for the site include a mix of high-density residential housing, medium-density residential housing, commercial/retail space, and public open space. The final site plans have not been approved by the City. The City and Alatus plan to introduce more detailed plans in the late fall and will seek feedback from residents. Alatus and the City would like to have the land-use approval process completed by early 2024 with the intent of breaking ground in the summer of 2024.
