Refuse & Recycling

The Refuse and Recycling Department manages solid waste disposal for approximately 6,400 residential properties in Columbia Heights. Services include curbside trash, recycling, yard waste/organic composting, and special curbside collections (bulk, appliances, electronics, and mattresses/bedsprings), as well as a drop-off Recycle Center. Of these properties, about 150 are multi-dwelling with four or more units totaling more than 2,500 apartments or condominiums.

Walters Recycling AND REFUSE
Walters is the service provider for Columbia Heights as of Jan 1, 2023. Trash and recycling schedules have changed. To get your new schedule, visit https://waltersrecycling.com/#service or call 763-780-8464

Commercial and Business Refuse Services
Businesses and other non-residential properties not serviced via the City’s residential contract may arrange for their own service providers.  Also, for information and assistance developing a recycling program for your business visit Anoka County Recycling & Resource Solutions. Area businesses may also use the City’s Recycling Center to drop off recyclables.
