Arbor Day Tree Sale Begins March 1

In celebration of Arbor Day, the City of Columbia Heights will be selling trees at a discounted rate for its residents. The 2023 Columbia Heights Arbor Day Tree Sale will take place between March 1 and April 28.

PRICING AND ORDERING INFORMATION

Click here to purchase a tree.
The window to order a tree is from March 1 to April 28.
Once your selection has been made, City staff will contact you for payment. Your order is not finalized until payment is received and confirmed by City Staff.
Columbia Heights residents will be limited to two trees per household.
Orders must be pre-paid.
Only 50 trees are available for purchase.
The price includes sales tax and delivery - trees will be delivered during the first week of May.
No refunds will be given.
Orders do not come with a warranty.
The preferred payment method is a check.
Credit card payments are also accepted.

Description: a medium to large-sized specimen or shade tree native to MN. The characteristic beautiful, exfoliating bark gives this tree four seasons of visual interest. River birch is the hardiest of the birches and the best suited to urban conditions. Tolerant of a variety of soil types and growing conditions. Full sun.

Description:  a small flowering landscape tree native to MN. A brief but spectacular display of showy white flowers in early spring with no messy fruit! A great accent or specimen tree for any landscape. Full sun, tolerant of most soil types and harsh urban conditions.

Description:  a large shade tree native to MN. Bicolor oak is a slow-growing but very long-living species with high wildlife value. Named for its characteristic leaves, which are a dark shiny green on top and silvery white beneath. Does very well in wet soil conditions, but has good drought tolerance as well. Full sun.

Incredible autumn displays of orange to red and smooth grey bark give year-round landscape interest. Full sun to partial shade.

Description: a medium to a large-sized shade tree. Very unique leaves and texture make the Ginkgo stand out in any landscape. Autumn Gold is an all-male cultivar with no fruit production. Very tolerant of all soil types and tough urban conditions, no insect or disease issues. Beautiful golden fall color, all leaves drop within a small period of time making a beautiful display and easy cleanup. Full sun.

Description: a large, fast-growing evergreen tree native to MN. Tall and stately, the form is upright but quite irregular, requiring room to spread long lateral branches. Fine, feathery needles and large cones when mature. Prefers acidic, well-drained soil but is adaptable to many soil conditions. Full sun to light shade.
