VFW Flag Burning Ceremony Is Oct 5

Columbia Heights firefighters will help set up and monitor an American flag retirement ceremony in the parking lot of the VFW Post #230 this Sat, Oct 5, 10 am. Burning flags in an official ceremony like this is the most respectful way to dispose of older American flags. The ceremony is open to the public. If you have an old flag that you're planning to dispose of, consider bringing it to Saturday's ceremony.
