Volunteers Wanted to Help Get Everyone Counted

Volunteers Needed to Help Ensure All Columbia Heights Residents Get Counted in the 2020 Census
Columbia Heights has been identified by the U.S. Census Bureau as at risk of being an undercounted area. Since the census determines where district lines are drawn and where and how federal and state funding gets distributed, an inaccurate headcount can create negative consequences that ripple through a community for decades.

To ensure Columbia Heights receives proper representation, the City has joined communities across the country in forming a Complete Count Committee. Officials are calling for volunteer residents to help increase awareness and encourage participation in the 2020 Census.

A Complete Count info meeting is scheduled for March 19, 6:30-7:30 pm, at Columbia Heights City Hall. Jim Accurso, a representative from the US Census Bureau, will be on hand to provide more details and answer questions.

Call 763-706-3670 to get involved, or just drop by City Hall, Conference Room 1, 6:30 pm March 19.
