Winter Refuse News

Any winter weather delays will be posted on the City’s web site.

The Recycling Center is a great alternative for recycling excess cardboard, wrapping paper (with non-metallic print), and other recyclables.

Live Christmas trees will be collected from January 1^st to January 12^th.  Call 1-888-960-0008 to schedule a pickup prior to placing the tree outside.  Artificial Christmas trees that are mostly metal can be placed in the scrap metal bin at the Recycling Center.  Please ensure all decorations and lights are removed.  Holiday lights are also collected at the Recycling Center. 

An organics event kit is available for residents to use at local gatherings and events.  To request the event kit call 763-706-3706.  After the event, empty the organics into the drop-off containers at the Recycling Center and return the kit to Public Works.

Please do not place refuse carts in the street or alley as this interferes with snow plowing and removal.

The City Council has approved a new refuse contract.  Waste Management will be our new refuse company and will begin hauling the trash and recycling starting in January.  The customer service number is 1-888-960-0008.  There will be no need to exchange carts as the City now owns all carts in the field; the carts will receive new labels sometime next year.  Ensure carts are out by 6 a.m. on your service day as the routes are changing and the times may change for service at your property.
