CITY CLERK

Position Overview:    
This is highly responsible and varied clerical and administrative work performing elections administration, administration of official records and managing the City’s records retention program, preparation of City Council agendas and minutes, and serving as the City’s responsible authority for compliance with the Minnesota Data Practices Act.  Work involves considerable public contact, knowledge and familiarity with general City organization and operation of municipal services.
    
Required Qualifications:        
Combination of training and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in management, or related field. Four years related experience performing clerical and administrative duties involving extensive public contact. Two years training and/or experience in the operation of a computer using Microsoft Office Suite software.
         
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, management, or related field. Municipal Clerk certification. Five or more years related experience performing responsible clerical and administrative duties involving extensive public contact. Two years related experience in a municipal government setting.

Wage Range: $4,848 - $5,509/month plus fringe benefits

Hours: 8 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday plus some evening meetings
