COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Position Overview:
Director level administrative and supervisory work directing the planning, zoning, economic development, housing, building inspections, licensing and permitting activities of the City. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the City Manager.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Regional or Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field. Three years progressively responsible experience in community development, economic development, housing, or related; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of supervisory experience. Demonstrated ability to work with developers and community groups.
Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree in Regional or Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field. Five or more years progressively responsible experience in community development, economic development, housing, or related. Three years supervisory experience. Current participation and leadership in a professional association, such as the Economic Development Association of Minnesota (EDAM) and the Minnesota Chapter of the American Planning Association (MNAPA). More than five years progressively responsible experience in community development or administration of an economic development or housing related board.
Wage Range:
$96,936 - $116,796 annually plus fringe benefits (2018 rate)
Hours:
8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
