Located just across the border of Northeast Minneapolis in a city that blends the fast-paced nature of a major metropolitan area with the community-based focus of a small town, the Columbia Heights Police Department is an international-award-winning agency looking for experienced, dedicated Police Officers from a diverse range of backgrounds and years of experience to join its team.

Required Qualifications:
Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a full time Police Officer in the State of Minnesota at the time of hire.  Two or more years of work experience of a high public contact nature.  Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.  Ability to acquire a valid Minnesota driver’s license within 30 days of employment.  

Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or related field.  Two or more years of work experience performing police work or police support duties.

Wage Range:    $4,522 - $6,650 per month, plus benefits.  Experienced and non-traditional Police Officers are encouraged to apply. Lateral step placement including wages and vacation benefits are provided to those who qualify.

Applications accepted until 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2018.  Testing for qualified candidates is anticipated to occur the evening of Wednesday, September 19th.  Following the closing date, you will receive notice in the mail if you have been selected to sit for the exam. There will be no make-up dates available for the exam.
