Responsibilities
The Street Department services and maintains 70 miles of city streets. This department also trims the trees over street right-of-ways and ensures catch basins are cleared of snow and free of debris.

Parking Restrictions
The City of Columbia Heights has winter parking restrictions to allow snowplows to clear the roads during the winter months. Find the latest information on winter parking dates and hours here.

ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Transition Plan
In the early 1990s, the City of Columbia Heights developed and implemented a plan to meet the requirements of the ADA as outlined by the Department of Justice.

More recently, the Department of Justice has instituted specific requirements for pedestrian access routes within publicly owned rights-of-way.  The City of Columbia Heights ADA Transition plan identifies needed improvements and strategies for implementation.  This plan is required by the Federal Highway Administration for continued funding through the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
