- City of Columbia Heights ordinance 853-8.101(1) requires all dogs and cats over six months old to be licensed.
- In addition, City of Columbia Heights ordinance 853-9.103(34) limits the number of animals in a household to two adults (over six months old).
Pet licenses are issued for a period of up to two years at a cost of $5 for a spayed or neutered animal or $7 for an unaltered pet. Licenses are available during regular business hours at:

Requirements
A current rabies vaccination certificate is required to obtain the license. Also, a certificate indicating that the animal is spayed or neutered is required for the purchase of a reduced cost pet license.
