Overview:
- A Cigarette / Tobacco Sales License is needed if cigarettes / cigars are sold as part of the retail sales of the business. This license does not allow for any sampling of the product.
- Once the application and fee is submitted, it goes to the Police Department for a background check of the applicant. If that is found to be satisfactory, it then goes to our City Council at the next scheduled Council meeting. The process generally takes about four to five weeks for the license to be issued.
- The cigarette / tobacco sales licenses are issued annually for the calendar year (January 1 - December 31).
- The fee for the license is $300 per year.
