2019 Community Picnic and Art & Craft Fair Is June 27, 4:30-7 pm
The City of Columbia Heights’ annual Community Picnic returns Thu, June 27, from 4:30 to 7 pm at Huset Park West. New this year, the picnic will feature an arts and craft fair inside the nearby Murzyn Hall. Attendees will be able to walk back and forth to each event, and the Jamboree Carnival will be opening at the other side of the park that evening, so residents can make a day out of visiting Huset Park!

Community Picnic Activities (Outside)
4:30-7 pm:
The 3rd annual Community Picnic will feature 25 informational booths with officials from City and community organizations. The booths will be located around the Huset Park Splash Pad, which will be operating.

4:30-7 pm
Face painting will be provided for free near the splash pad.

5-6 pm
A four-piece mariachi band will provide music in the picnic area. 

6-7:30 pm
Kids' Fishing Clinic: This educational clinic will give kids some hands-on fishing lessons. This activity is free, but registration is required. Register here.

Art & Craft Fair Activities (Inside) 
4:30-7:30 pm
Buy some arts and crafts from local vendors at this arts and craft fair inside Murzyn Hall. 

Vendors still have time to sign up to be included in the art and craft fair. Interested parties can call the City’s recreation department during regular office hours at 763-706-3730 to register. Fee to have a booth in the art fair is $15. Deadline to register is June 20.


4:30-7 pm
Top Valu Liquor will be providing free wine samples inside Murzyn Hall. 

4:30-7:30 pm
The Lions Club will be selling beer inside Murzyn Hall. 

Food and Beverages
El Taco Loco will provide 300 free tacos (first-come, first-served), and HeightsNEXT will be giving out free ice cream. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own picnic baskets or grilling items. There will be free water on site, and beer for sale inside Murzyn Hall.
