About Blooming Heights

Blooming Heights is a Columbia Heights Public Schools program that uses school garden and nutrition programming to facilitate equitable experiences that engage all the senses while building the skills and knowledge necessary for cultivating a healthy life and planet.

Wes Nugteren is the Ag Specialist at Columbia Heights School District and implements garden and nutrition programming at Blooming Heights Edible Schoolyard Garden. Away from his work as an educator, he is a husband, father, naturalist, forager, gardener, woodworker, leatherworker, and wannabe chef.
