Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) Program

In June 2018, Columbia Heights launched its Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) Program. The goal of this program is to provide the support and resources businesses need to flourish. The program underscores the City’s high level of commitment to the success and longevity of its local business community.

The launch of the BRE Program started with the application opening of the Façade Improvement Grant which is designed to revitalize exterior storefronts along Central Avenue NE. The program is in partnership between the Economic Development Authority and the City’s Police Department and managed through the Community Development Department. Moving forward, similar to the Façade Improvement Grant, there will be many opportunities and resources available for businesses.
