Department Information
The Columbia Heights Police Department has a sworn staff of 29 full-time officers, including patrol, community policing, investigations, school liaisons, and a detective assigned to a narcotics task force. The Police Department has six full-time support staff.
We have several programs that we utilize to provide services to the community, including:
- Community Oriented Policing
- Community Service Officers
- Cops-N-Kids
- D.A.R.E
- Member of the Anoka-Hennepin Drug Task Force
Additional assignments include: D.A.R.E Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Field Training Officer, First Aid Instructor, Investigator, School Resource Officer, Taser Instructor, Use of Force Instructor

The Columbia Heights Police Department strongly encourages those seeking employment opportunities as an officer with the department to obtain their Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
