Housing

A critical element to the success of any city is the health of its housing stock. Housing is a particularly significant asset for Columbia Heights as it makes up the largest component of the existing land use with approximately 70% of the city zoned for residential use. A goal in the City's Comprehensive Plan is to preserve and expand the single-family neighborhoods as the community's strongest asset. The City Council has also adopted an external goal to improve the City's housing stock because of how important housing is to the city.
